Mischief in Musgrave Harbour

On Sunday, August 08th, at approximately 03:30 am, unknown person(s), damaged a decorative lighthouse on the front lawn of a residence in the Town of Musgrave Harbour, NL.

The culprit(s) tied a rope around the lighthouse and dragged it along Main St. in Musgrave Harbour with a quad. Attached is a photo of the lighthouse before it was damaged.

Suspicious Fire in Stoneville

On August 8th, 12:30 a.m., the Stoneville Fire Department responded to a fire at the old Government Wharf.

The investigation by the Fire Commissioner shows no indication of accelerant used and the charring of the wood indicates the fire was spread from under the wharf’s boards. The wharf is a total loss.

Break and Enter on the Northern Peninsula

Sometime between June 17th and 24th the old Lower Cove school was broken into and vandalized.

The suspect(s) beat down the back door, damaged the kitchen cupboards and used spray paint on the walls. Various offensive and obscene messages were written throughout the school using a red marker.

On July 25th at approximately 10:15 AM, the person in this photo was observed stealing a 26oz bottle of George Street Rum from the Orange Store in Holyrood.

The suspect was confronted by a store employee but left on foot. He wore a black sweater, pants, baseball hat and face mask.

Theft of Generator

Sometime between February 1st, 2021 and May 9th, 2021 a generator, welding machine and tools were stolen from the Friendship Farm on Route 100. The farm is located between Whitbourne and Placentia, 8km from the TCH.

Sometime between May 23rd and May 25th a home on Centennial Hill in Southern Harbour was vandalized.

The front window and door of the unoccupied residence were smashed.

Property Damage

On May 9th, 2021 The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a report of boats that were untied or cut from the dock and sunk. There was extensive damage to the boats and the vessels were found submerged. This occurred in vicinity of Stage Head Rd, Conception Bay South Newfoundland and Labrador.

Police Need Your Help to Locate Vehicle

On May 23rd at 2:12PM, a Black GMC Sierra was involved in a hit and run at the Sobey’s parking lot in Clarenville.

The driver of the truck backed into a grey Mazda 3 sedan and then left the scene without leaving their information. The pick-up truck had a Newfoundland licence plate and may have damage to the rear bumper as a result of the collision.

Can You Identify This Person?

On May 4th, just after 7:00 pm, the suspect pictured here took a quantity of liquor from Needs Convenience at 360 Harvey St, Harbour Grace.

Video surveillance showed the suspect take 2-4 packs of Smirnoff vodka coolers from the shelf, conceal the coolers in his jacket and then left without paying. The suspect wore khaki pants, a black coat and a black Puma ball cap.

Suspected Arson

On May 18th at approximately 10:49 PM, an anonymous person called 911 to report a travel trailer was on fire near Sandy Harbour River on Route 210 (Burin Peninsula Highway).

Terrenceville Fire Department attended and advised that the trailer was fully engulfed upon their arrival. The fire was extinguished, but the trailer was completely destroyed.

It appears that the trailer was broken into and a 2500 W Honda Generator, as well as other items were stolen before the fire started.
