Sometime between March 21st and 29th, 30’ of heavy copper wire was stolen from the Sunnyside Waste Management site. 12 refrigerated shipping containers were also vandalized resulting in more than $10,000 in damages.

Bay Roberts RCMP is looking to arrest 31-year-old Matthew Lundrigan and 34-year-old Amanda Parsons, who are both wanted in relation to an incident that recently occurred at the Home Hardware in Bay Roberts

.On January 29, 2022, at approximately 12:00 p.m., police received the report of a theft from the business. Lundrigan allegedly fled the store with stolen property and headed towards a vehicle parked in the lot. Parsons, who was seated in the passenger seat, opened the door for Lundrigan to assist in his escape. Lundrigan entered the driver side of the vehicle and nearly struck an employee who tried to stop them. Both Lundrigan and Parsons are currently on probation and Lundrigan is prohibited from driving.

Matthew Lundrigan is charged and wanted for the following offences:

• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

• Prohibited driving

• Theft under $5000

• 2 Counts of failing to comply with a probation order

Amanda Parsons is charged and wanted for the following offences:

• Theft under $5000

• Failing to comply with a probation order

Warrants for their arrests were issued by Harbour Grace Provincial Court on February 2, 2022. Lundrigan is also wanted for a number of charges with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Do You Know This Suspect?

On Thursday, January 27 at approx 8:00 am, RNC Officers arrived at a business on Harvey Road in St. John’s and located a female with visible injuries. It was determined the female was assaulted and the suspect fled the area on foot. The investigation in to the incident remains active.

The suspect is described  as a white male, approximately 50 years old, 5’7” with a medium build, dark curly hair and was wearing dark clothes.

Theft at EastLink Events Centre

Sometime between December 7th and 8th, a Red 2014 Arctic Cat 500 ATV was stolen from the EastLink Events Centre shed in Clarenville.

The ATV has extra headlights, a winch, and a homemade wooden carrier on the front. Licence plate number VGA099, VIN 4UF14ATVXET209461.

Brazen Theft from Cabin

$15,000 worth of household goods and appliances were stolen from a cabin on Cabot Highway in Bellevue, NL. The owner lives out of province and upon return, discovered that the cabin had been broken into sometime between August 2019 and August 2021.

Items stolen include:

– Admiral Washer and Dryer

– Moffat Stove

– Masterchef BBQ

– Makita Electric Chain Saw

– Sealy Queen Mattress and Box Spring

– Solid Wood Master Bedroom Suite

– Woodstove

– Many other household items including small kitchen appliances, linens, cleaning supplies and lightbulbs.

Suspicious Activity at Camping Area

On October 4th 2021 at 6pm a user of the Jay 1 Pit, along route 230, interrupted a theft in progress. Upon arrival, a quad was seen leaving the area quickly.

There were several trailers that were set up in the area which were broken into. All the external storage boxes were forced open as well.

Over $2000 worth of items were stolen including:

  • Sway Bar
  • Propane stove
  • BBQ (Black and Red)
  • Tanks of Oil
  • Extension cords
  • A tent, no description
  • Trailer Hitch
  • Boots

Suspicious Fire near Ship Cove

Sometime between 7:35 pm and 7:55 pm on Friday, September 17, a vehicle fire occurred on Route 100 just west of Ship Cove. 

A 2014 red GMC Sierra truck with a small utility trailer attached, was backed into a clearing on a hill just outside of Great Barasway.  The Placentia Fire Department arrived on scene and discovered broken glass on the ground outside of the vehicle and it was engulfed in flames.

Theft of Truck

On June 7th, a 2011 blue Ford F150 was reported stolen in Freshwater. The owner was away and upon return, discovered that the truck was missing.

The truck was parked in a small parking area on Murphy Road and could of been stolen any time between May 29th and June 7th.
